InsyaAllah, by Tuesday 11 January the two diddies Darby and Joan will be home in Leicester.
We'll open our front door and hope the cold winter has not caused any damp.
Then it's through the backdoor and we hope to see our familiar backyard address. This we picked up on the beach at Muara, Brunei in 1984. It's 27 years old and give it another 73 years it will be a piece of antique wood!
We shall then take a walk to Victoria Park to check if the ducks are still as quacked up as they are supposed to be.
The gulls I'm sure will always be there squawking and screaming for food.
But this is what I really want to to see. Birds resting on bare trees. An absolute joy to watch!
I expect to buckle down to 'work' in my room after a few days (?) or maybe a few weeks (?).
However as he has just returned from the Tropics, the spouse will have to start his warming-up exercises before he begins an arduous life in the cold. But the big hole in his right sock tells me that this will take some time.
I have to keep the kitchen fire burning and cook meals like this. Ha ha Fat Hope!! Dream on spouse, Yasir and Jack and Doug!!! This lady is not for cooking.
But, I will be so glad to be home in our second/first home that I will even enjoy the ironing. Hmmm?
Goodbye to Malaysia and friends and loved ones in Kuala Lumpur, Johor Baru and Singapore. I need to rejuvenate myself and make a superb start to 2011.
I hope to do much more this year. Or perhaps I may just decide to hibernate like the dormouse. See you all in Spring and take care.
Kak Maz... have a good start in Leicester. God willing, we'll see you both come springtime. lots of lova lova from us both.
ReplyDeleteEnjoy the cold and recharge yourself, will see you and Uncle in a few months time and please make me the carrot cake, lasagne, baked vegetables and cheese cake - again. Slurp !!
ReplyDeleteBon voyage!! Looking forward to more cerita-ceriti once you are settled again.
ReplyDeleteMy dear Puteri,
ReplyDeleteIt was lovely seeing you and Pak Abu and Pok Som and Ju.
Those thoughts will warm us up when we get back to Leicester. And as they say in that old song "We'll gather lilacs in the spring again" when we get back.
Take care, both of you.
Thank you ph,
ReplyDeleteYou've got fat, fat hopes!!
What happened to the diet plan wef 4th January?
We'll be thinking of you in the cold - in your Peggoty's dressing gown.
Hopefully we will improve so that we will not be sold for "battery lama, surat khabar lama !!!"
Thank you jooli,
ReplyDeleteIt will be brrrr ramblings. After 9 months away I wonder how things have changed - like what sort of neighbours do we have?
Still that will provide fodder for more grumblings.
I've got a name
ReplyDeleteJim Croche
Thank you bodoh.pandai,
ReplyDeleteNo, you are 'pandai'. I had thought of posting that Jim Croce song initially but I fancied the Beatles number.
Jim Croce's "I got a Name" is one of my favourites because of the first verse.
Like the pine trees lining the winding road,
I got a name, I got a name.
Like the singing bird and the croaking toad.
I got a name, I got a name.
And I carry it with me like my Daddy did.
But I'm living the dream that he kept hid.
And I carry my father' name, just like Croce.
Here is hoping you two an active live back in Leicester(know they have a very good rugby team there).. No I did not hope two of you to play rugger..
ReplyDeleteKeep safe and have a nice day
Thank you Wan Sharif.
ReplyDeleteHere's wishing you and the family well.
No rugby for us whether passive or active.
